200 Meter and 300 Meter Rifle Range.
The Club's Longest Range.

Description:

Range 4 is one of the few long ranges in Ontario. Note: See the permissions required to be able to shoot on this range.

 

FIREARMS PERMITTED

Rifles.

Muzzle loaders.

 

MEMBER QUALIFICATION

Members must complete Range 4 course before they can shoot on this range.

R4 - Iron and Scope or R4S Scope only.

R4 - 22LR: As of January 2016, 22LR section has been added as a requirement for R4 course completion. You must complete 22LR at 200m instruction before shooting at the range.  Only equipment suitably modified for shooting at 200m must be used. 

 

NON-QUALIFIED MEMBERS

Must be under direct supervision of an instructor or a qualified member who completed Range 4 course. Members must be able to use a rifle properly zero'd by a qualified member.

The qualified member is completely responsible for ensuring the non-qualified member's gun is zero'd from 200 and 300m.

 

GUESTS

Must be under the direct supervision of a qualified Range 4 instructor and must use a rifle properly qualified by the instructor for 200 or 300m.

 

BOXING AND UNBOXING

Only at the Shooting Benches. 

Firearms must face down range and be in a safe condition with actions open, magazines (and all ammunition) removed. 

Rifles being moved from the shooting bench to the rifle racks must be unloaded, actions opened, and pointing straight up in the air.

 

REACTIVE TARGETS

  • Metal pig plates in appropriate shrouding may be used at 200m with 22LR rifles.
  • Metal plates in appropriate shrouding may be used at 200m and 300m with rifles using lead bullets only.

 

ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS

  • Rifles in 22LR may only be used at 200m. Rifle must be a 22LR target rifle with a scope mount modified to be capable of reaching the 200m distance accordingly.
  • All rifles used on this range must have preliminary sighting at 100 yards on Range 3. 
  • The warning stop sign must be lowered prior to proceeding down the range. The sign must be returned to upright position when all personnel have returned up range.
